Supervision

I offer supervision to masters level associates within Washington State as an approved supervisor. I think supervision and consultation both work best in a collaborative, dialogic relationship. Developing a practice is multifaceted; developing a clinical mind and a business are two distinct skill sets. I have helped many clinicians launch the business side of their practice and have acumen with the practical side of this work. I also believe in the importance of developing a useful frame and “container” for both therapist and patient. Both of these elements free us up to work in the clinical material. My interests primarily lie in understanding the emotional material within the session and developing the ability to make use of the therapist’s experience from a psychoanalytic perspective. I professionally privilege emotional process over interventions and tactics. The vital task is for each one of us to develop our own senses and our own perspectives.
